Walgreens has fully revamped its customer loyalty program to be more health-and-wellness-focused and to emphasize the company’s omnichannel services in order to make shopping at Walgreens more convenient.
Members can now receive 1% Walgreens Cash rewards storewide, 5% Walgreens Cash rewards on Walgreens-branded brands, and personalized “only for you” offers with MyWalgreens.
How Does myWalgreens Work?
The myWalgreens program does not have a card. During the checkout process, you can enter your phone number, but you can also use a barcode from your app if you prefer.
The registered phone number or barcode will get you the advertised sale prices as well as a few bonus perks, such as earning 1% cash back for each purchase or 5% on Walgreens branded goods. You will also be able to use digital coupons.
If you’ve earned $1 or more in Walgreens Cash, you can use it on your next in-store or online purchase. Walgreens Cash is easily used to pay for the purchase. Furthermore, the new program promises customized offers and product suggestions.
The myWalgreens launch also includes a fully updated Walgreens mobile app, which includes, among other things, store pickup purchasing options (with as little as 30-minute pickup at some stores), 24/7 pharmacy chat, access to find and book medical care and vaccine appointments, personal health-and-wellness tips, and real-time flu warnings.
Customers can also add a payment method to their in-app digital wallet to allow contactless checkout in store, as well as redeem Walgreens Cash rewards instantly at checkout and select digital receipts.
Additional features of myWalgreens allow members to:
- Earn bonus Walgreens Cash for achieving physical activity and lifestyle goals via health challenges that last four weeks.
- Donate their Walgreens Cash to a rotating eligible charity, beginning with the Full Plate Project, a program of Comic Relief’s Red Nose Day, and to be followed by Vitamin Angels sometime this winter.
